Fred Matiang'i is a Kenyan politician and public servant born on 22 April 1968 in Nyamira County, associated with the Jubilee Party. He studied at Kenyatta University and the University of Nairobi, earning a Bachelor's degree in Education, a Master's degree in English, and a PhD in Communication and Comparative Literature. He served as Cabinet Secretary for ICT (2013-2015), Education (2015-2017), and Interior and Coordination of National Government (2017-2022), playing a key role in coordinating government operations and national security. After leaving office in 2022, he worked with the World Bank before returning to active politics.
