Chirau Ali Mwakwere is a Kenyan politician and diplomat who represented Matuga Constituency in Kwale County during the 9th Parliament under the National Rainbow Coalition (NARC). He joined government service in 1967 and served as an ambassador to several countries as well as in domestic postings, including in education. A member of the Kenya African National Union until 2002, where he rose to deputy leader, he left to join NARC, which won the 2002 election. He served as Kenya's Foreign Minister from June 2004 to December 2005 and then as Transport Minister from December 2005, following a cabinet reshuffle prompted by tensions within NARC.
