John Njoroge Michuki was a Kenyan politician, born at Muguru village in Fort Hall District and educated in Kenya and abroad, who became one of the country's most prominent long-serving civil servants, businessmen, and politicians. He served as Permanent Secretary in the Finance Ministry and Chairman of the Kenya Commercial Bank before entering elective politics, representing Kangema Constituency in the National Assembly during the 9th Parliament on a NARC ticket for his fourth five-year term, and later Kasarani Constituency in the 11th Parliament on a The National Alliance ticket. He served as a Cabinet Minister, including as Minister for Environment and National Resources at the time of his death, and was widely regarded as a ruthless and highly effective manager, among the best-performing ministers in President Kibaki's government.
