Kivutha Kibwana is a Kenyan politician, legal scholar, and human rights activist who represented Makueni Constituency in the National Assembly under the National Rainbow Coalition (NARC). He served in the Kenyan Cabinet as Minister for Defence and later as Minister for Environment, and was also an advisor to President Mwai Kibaki. Kibwana went on to become the first Governor of Makueni County, completing two terms in that office before his tenure ended in 2022. His career spans academia, human rights advocacy, national government, and county leadership, reflecting a consistent focus on public service and governance reform.
