Mohamed Muktar Shidiye is a Kenyan politician who represented Lagdera Constituency in Garissa County across the 8th and 11th Parliaments. He was first elected in 1997 on a Kenya African National Union (KANU) ticket, defeating Farah Maalim, and served as Deputy Government Chief Whip of KANU in Parliament. He lost the seat to Abdillahi Sheikh Dahir in 2002 and to Farah Maalim in 2007, before reclaiming it in 2013 on a TNA ticket with the support of the Jubilee Coalition. Prior to his parliamentary career, he served as a District Officer for Meru District in the early 1990s, giving him grounding in provincial administration before moving into elective politics.
